Cut-Back Girth

This girth is the Meisterstück of Desiree Reeser, our Canadian-trained harness maker. The cut-back girth is flexible and soft, fits like a dream, and provides generous elbow room.  It will not pull the saddle forward, as straight and contoured girths do, and for this reason is preferred for horses who have a problem with the saddle sliding forward.  (If you are experiencing this problem, send us an e-mail and we can make some other suggestions.) For Desiree's masterpiece we ordered Sedgwick's specially-tanned girth leather, of course. We scoured the marketplace for the strongest, best looking girth elastic possible, and used it on both ends. Then we padded the girth, extended the padding up under the roller buckles, and lined it with a very soft, water-resistant leather. Another great gift for the person who has everything.
