Saddle Fitting
Saddle fitting can be confounding when you are on your own and working through catalogues and the internet. We would be happy to help you. We are not magicians but saddle fitting study in the United States, England, and Germany has given us plenty of experience and a broad perspective. Our research and conversations with other saddle researchers means that you can draw from a deep well of experience.
On site
A typical saddle fitting visit includes a careful back examination, instructions and help for keeping important records of your own, a saddle check for safety and fit, and finally, a menu of options. We can help you decide whether a standard or therapeutic fit is the right one for your horse. Where possible, we can adjust or renovate your saddle for optimum fit; where this is not possible we can offer saddles that will fit your horse and guarantee great value.
Fitting Fee: $65 plus
Mileage Fee: $15 per hour each way to be divided by clients at stable. (We try to schedule clients together to keep this fee as low as possible for everyone.)

Long-distance
If you live a great distance from a saddle fitter, perhaps we can help. We have worked hard to master the art of long-distance fitting, and have clients in nearly all of the United States. Shipping charges, even from California, often cost less than fitting and mileage charges on site; and, if we do not get it right the first time, we will pay the shipping charges for a follow-up adjustment. We have developed a long-distance fitting kit that includes the materials and instructions to make a plaster caste of your horse's back plus supporting materials, photos and tracings. The cost of the kit is $55.00. We have had great success with it. When we receive your materials in our workshop, it is like having your horse right in front of us. After we study your horse's horse’s shape and width, we call you to discuss your horse and saddling history, your horse in motion, and to formulate a plan of action.
